Eagle The Royal Bird- Part 1
I would like to share some of the interesting facts about the Nature which may attract your attention. I hope these fascinating facts intrigue you and inspire you. If we inculcate the importance of these qualities in our mind and cultivate the habit of adapting and implementing them in our daily lives, there are fair chances that we become one of the most prolific breeds as far as the success is concerned.
Here my effort is to accumulate the courage with all due respect and all the possible humility to remind you of the amazing wonders of the Mother Nature and to encourage you and re-assure you that it’s not too late to change our perspective and become a better person. There is always scope for betterment, and hope for improvisation. Thus nobody can touch the end, Learning is a never ending process.
As we all know “Nature Is The Best Teacher”. If we have a keen observation and a right attitude to learn, we can learn and be inspired by Birds, Trees, Animals for that matter every object in this world in some or other way.
Today I would like to share some of the inspiring qualities of the Royal Bird “Eagle”.
Quality 1: Vision
Eagle is known for its vision. It can clearly see it’s prey which is on the ground, from 5 kilometers distance. It can spot another flying Eagle from 50 kilometers distance. It’s vision is 8 times better than Humans’ vision.
The Message
So from this we can learn the importance of having a vision about our future. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? Would you like to see yourself on the cover page of Fortune 500 Company Magazine or will you be a CEO of a multi national company or will you be The best programmer in your organization or will you be the healthiest man that you ever were or will you have your dream body with chiseled chest and conspicuous 6-pack abs or will you be a great philanthropist or social activist or will you be a typical human with common problems? It’s up to you. It’s YOU who defines your Mission Statement, nobody else does it better. You are the Captain of your Life ship. You are the Director and even Stellar Cast of your own movie, You can make it a Block Buster or an Utter Flop. You are accountable to none but YOU. It’s your call. Answer that genuinely to your Conscience. It’s high time that we did self introspection.
If we observe life stories of successful people and great personalities, we will certainly find one quality in common. They all had “Vision for Future”. They all knew where they were heading to. They might not knew how they will get there but they all had an accurate, vivid and clear Vision about where they have to go.
Quality 2: Soar To Great Heights
Eagle is the only bird that loves Rain Storm. No other bird enjoys it. When there is a rain storm, all other birds seek shelter under the branches of the Trees. But Eagle avoids the rain by flying high into the Sky above the Clouds. It does not flap it’s wings for a long time, it just freezes it’s wings in a particular posture against the wind and soars over the wind. Eagle enjoys this act thoroughly. That’s why it is The Emperor aviator, The King of birds.
The Message
Here the message is be extremely skillful in your profession. Be the Master of your Craft. Get to the top of your field because the bottom is over crowded and moreover from the top the view is awesome. As the Indian Scripture “Bhagawadgeeta” says “Yogaha Karmasu Kaushalam” which means What ever you do, be skillful and acquire extreme expertise in your profession, be the personification of your profession.
Quality 3: It Tests Before It Trusts
Eagle follows a peculiar method while choosing it’s life partner. Since Eagles are monogamous i.e they choose only one life partner for life, this test is very crucial for them. Once I read an article in a news paper on Valentine’s day titled “Valentinos be like an Eagle” while choosing your partner.
The female Eagle tests before it trusts. It picks up a small stick and flies high into the sky and drops that stick. There is a race among the male Eagles for that stick. This test goes for hours. Then finally, which particular male Eagle got the stick before it hits the ground, more number of times, the female Eagle will mate with only that particular Eagle. The female Eagle is testing the efficiency, talent and caliber of the male Eagle, just like in human beings, Women strictly mention their expectations in Matrimonial sites. I think this phenomenon is very present in Mother Nature. Perhaps one of the basic laws of Nature which has been forwarded as a legacy from generations to generations to the offspring of the each species to keep their existence on Earth and protect them from extinction.
Sometimes I feel that God is biased in favor of male gender in Nature. If you observe all the special qualities, talents, beauty, strength, efficiency and special skills are given to the male beings by instinct in Mother Nature. For example, Peacock with all it’s beautiful plumage, feathers and the ability to dance, is a male bird. The cuckoo bird that can sing is male. There is a special category in birds called “Birds of Paradise” These birds are very beautiful with different colors and they can dance, they can imitate and make different sweet sounds, again only male birds are privileged in this category and if you consider some birds, you can clearly identify the male ones, as you can see some kind of different extra color under their neck and they have crest on their head. Even in Fireflies or lightening bugs, both male and female can produce that illuminating effect but only the males can fly. Similarly the Lion is very strong and ferocious and has that extra lustrous hair around it’s neck. Lion has the responsibility to protect the lioness and lion cubs. In some birds, the male ones got the special talent of interior decoration. They build and decorate their nest with different objects like flowers, grains, nuts and beautiful and colorful stones. There are so many such examples.
You can see in majority of cases all the special qualities and privileges in Nature are given to male beings by instinct. Correct me if I am wrong, all the male beings in Nature are beautiful except in human beings. Am I right? Ok.. Let me complete for all the beautiful women out there. “All the male beings in Nature are beautiful except in human beings because in human beings, males can’t be beautiful, they are handsome”. Please don’t get me wrong, you beautiful ladies, I am basically a feminist. I support women empowerment and I am going to prove that shortly. Do you know why these special qualities are given to the male beings? just to protect and impress female beings. Yes, these qualities are given to impress the female, asking them for a date, asking them to give a chance to mate and choose as life partner.
Back to Eagle, female Eagle is testing the male because as you know, Eagles build their nest at the extreme top pinnacle or summit of the mountains. As we know the higher we go the higher the intensity of Air. Some times by the intense wind blows, the eggs or eaglets(the young ones) may fall from the nest. In such situations, whose responsibility is it to catch the eggs or eaglets? Yes, you guessed it right, the male Eagle. And while teaching the young ones how to fly, the predominant responsibility is on the male Eagle. So the test has been conducted prior to the mating.
The Message
So the message is ” Test before you Trust”. Don’t blindly believe anybody in your life, just because they are nice to you. You never know the reason behind their hypocrisy and diplomacy. So test the commitment and seriousness of the other person in your personal or professional life cause that person can be an asset or equally a liability if you fail to assess wisely. So we have to be shrewd and prudent while making decisions because a small symptom of negligency and irresponsibility may cost us our life.
