Eagle The Royal Bird- Part 2
I hope you liked my post “Eagle The Royal Bird- Part 1“. This is the part 2 in which I will share the remaining Qualities of the bird Eagle, from which we can learn.
Quality 4: Be Confident And Fearless
Eagle is at the top of it’s food chain which means Eagle kills other animals for food but no other animal kills Eagle for food. That means it is the Emperor of Aviation Kingdom. There are no predators to kill Eagles. They die natural death.
They are so confident that they don’t even look sideways like other birds to check whether there is any potential threat or any predator ambushing from behind. Because they know that no other predator can harm them while they are in air. But the other birds keep on checking whether they are at close proximity to danger by looking sideways towards their wings.
One more point to be mentioned is Eagles never do give up on their prey. If they decide to hunt a particular prey they will hunt it at any cost even that prey is bigger. For example there are instances of Eagles hunting and carrying mountain sheep which are 35 to 40 kilograms in weight which are almost 7 to 8 times heavier than Eagles.
The Message
The message is be confidant and become the big fish in the tank who is invincible. Be fearless and courageous to keep humongous and noble goals and never give up on your dreams until you surmount them at any cost in all cases with no exceptions.
Quality 5: Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
Unlike Vultures, Eagles do not eat dead meat. They hunt their prey and eat only fresh meat. They prefer to die starving but they do not eat dead meat. That is why Eagle is Royal bird.
The Message
Don’t depend on any body, face your own challenges and struggles and earn the right to live. Don’t settle for the small, easy and comfortable things. You are always bigger than your circumstances. You are always bigger than your paycheck, you worth exponentially more than that. Don’t live at the mercy of others. Don’t succumb to the easy options and do not surrender yourself to the circumstances. Earn the respect that you deserve, on your own. Winners are not born, they are made. Create your own future, be a pioneer, an example, a beacon to next generations and leave a proud legacy. Don’t get satisfied with your previous victories and throw the towel. Develop a desperate appetite for fresh victories just like Eagle got it’s appetite for fresh meat.
Quality 6: Choose Your Associations Wisely
Generally Eagles do not fly at small heights, they always fly at great heights. If we spot another bird near to Eagle while it is flying, that will be none other than another Eagle. They do not fly with Doves, Pigeons, Storks, Cuckoos, Kingfishers and Parrots until they decided to hunt them. They maintain their status and stature.
The Message
Choose your associations wisely. Mingle with like minded people who think alike and who have dreams and noble purpose in life just like you. Be with a Master Mind group and with elite people who always brain storm to lift up your spirit. Have an association of people who have an unquenchable thirst and an insatiable hunger for Knowledge and learning. The fellowship of people who are eager to learn daily and with a desire to develop themselves will unknowingly transforms you into the best version of yourself and makes you the best person you can ever be. Hence the saying “If you walk with giants, you will learn flying”. There is one more Maxim “Birds of feather flock together”. If you are with morons, excuse makers and pessimists who always complain about life, eventually they will pull you down and drag you down to their level. Then you will start seeing problems in opportunities even you have noble ideas. Then you can’t raise your standards. You have to rise like a phoenix and soar like an Eagle. Trust me friends you are nothing but the average of your associations. Thus never under estimate the power of associations. If you are the smartest person in your street then it’s time for you to move to new neighbourhood.
So please strictly eliminate toxic people with narrow mind and narrow thoughts from your life for good. This is the best favor that you can do to yourself. Develop a great sense of distinction between constructors and destructors of your life. Distinguish them not by cast, creed, religion and status but by Character. In Bhagawadgeeta, at the end, Karna asks Sri Krishna for justification that ” Krishna you know every thing. You made me so unfortunate. What sin did I do? Do I really deserve all this deception and treachery?” Then Krishna replied ” I do agree that you are a great person. You are talented, skillful and greater than Arjuna and ethically almost equal to Yudhistira, but the only mistake that you did was choosing the wrong side. You deserve this because of your evil and wicked associations. Well finally my friends, be careful while choosing your allies.
Quality 7: Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone
The average life span of Eagle is 30 years. By the time the Eagle is 25 years old , it is fully grown. It’s claw talons become bent and weak and it’s beak becomes bent like a hook. These two things are really crucial for the Eagle to hunt. And the wings accumulates all the possible muscle. The wings become so heavy that it can’t even fly. Long story short, it can’t hunt. If it can’t hunt, it can’t survive. As we know, it can’t feed on dead meat. It becomes a simple choice, either hunt or die. Now if the eagle choose to not to take this challenge and get out of the comfort zone and fail to undergo the painful struggling process of Metamorphosis, it will eventually die starving. But you know Eagle is a royal bird, it does not give up. It takes a sabbatical from hunting and be in mountain caves. It first forcefully plucks it’s claw talons with its beak and waits for new claws to grow. Then it beats it’s beak against the rocks and pulls off the beak with the help of it’s new talons and waits patiently for the beak to grow back. Then it pulls off the extra muscle in it’s wings and plucks off the feathers with it’s new beak and waits for new wings to grow back.
This rehabilitation process takes 4 months to 5 months of time. Now after 5 months of painful struggle and tolerance, the Eagle will take it’s first flight of glory. The king of the ring is back again. It proudly announces “My prey, Just pray” cause I am back in action. It rises from ashes like a phoenix and soars over the wind.
If the Eagle gives up to take this challenge and be in comfort zone it will die starving at the age of 25. If it survives this process it can live up to 70 to 75 years. Is n’t that 5 months struggle worth the life of next 50 years? That’s the prize for that struggle. The higher the struggle, the better the reward.
The Message
Here the learning is, always get out of your comfort zone. Raise your standards. Expand your boundaries day by day. Define and dictate your own limitations. Expand your confinements not your deadlines. Our life is a coin with two sides. One side is “who you are right now” and the flip side is “who you can be in future”. I mean the Ideal You, the best version of yourself. To meet that person you need to pierce through the threshold called your comfort zone. Build a reputation and be a brand ambassador for victory. Get on the track, stretch your neck, puff up your chest and run with all your cylinders, burn the last drop of your fuel, put every thing that you got on the table, give your best. Rest if you must but give your best. Never give in and never give up. What ever happens in life, Get up, Dress up and Show up. Your glory is at the other side of your comfort zone.
