The Fruits Of Evolution
Giraffe is evolved from an animal called Okapi. The conspicuous difference between both of them is Giraffe has a very long neck but Okapi does not have a long neck. Some Centuries ago some of the Okapis tried to eat the leafs of the branches which are higher than their reachable extent. To become successful in this attempt, they tried to extend their necks. After some years, as a result of evolution, this particular group of Okapis became Giraffes with long necks. And the benefit and the best part of this effort is the later generations have long necks by birth. They don’t have to struggle again like their ancestors. The later generations are enjoying the fruits of their predecessors’ sacrifice.
The Message
So if we are massively Successful, Our next generation will be blessed with our legacy. They don’t have to struggle from scratch. They can start from a higher level and eventually can achieve more than what we have achieved. For example, We have so many multi millionaires who are the examples of Rags to Riches stories. And now their children are enjoying ‘larger than life’ luxuries and living too good to be true lifestyles. Here my emphasis is on the very fact that they don’t have to face the mishaps and adversities which their parents had gone through. So be a massive success at least for your next generation so that your successors can enjoy the comforts and benefits of your Legacy.
The Dark Side Of Evolution
There is a counter part to the above example, the flip side of Evolution. There is an animal called “Mole”. This animal is not blind by birth. Mole used to live on land, later it started digging burrows in land and started living underground for years. As a result, it lost it’s Eye Sight. And the worst part is the next generation is blind by birth.
There is one more example and that is “Sea Salamander”. Some species of this kind started living at extreme depths of oceans i.e under-water caves. Because of this practice they lost their Vision. As a result their next generation is blind by instinct.
The Message
If we are broke through out our life and in devastated situation, our next generation will be in more pathetic circumstances even though they do not deserve it. I am not declaring that, I am just being practical and there will be exceptions anyways. Still they can become great but the struggle is 10 times more and the chances are less, since we are not providing the elevated platform to them. We can not catapult their future to a desired extent.
